Festive Menu at Vallum Farm

It's the most wonderful time of the year to visit Vallum Farm. During December Vallum are hosting Festive Fridays in which you can enjoy a festive lunch or dinner. I was lucky enough to be able head along to Vallum with my lovely friend Kayleigh from The Original Redhead to try out the festive Menu, and it's one you definitely don't want to miss out on. Not only is the food fantastic but the Christmas decorations are the best, I felt like I was in Winter wonderland and that was at the beginning of November. The room we were in was very traditionally decorated with the Christmas tree decorated next to the fireplace, and surrounded by comfortable chairs laced in blankets and fur. Not only that but the table was decorated nice and simply with a very rustic feel.

The food served to us was out of this world, and for once we could sit down to a meal and know exactly where each item had comes from. All of the food at Vallum Farm is locally sourced, majority from the Farm itself. There isn't many places nowadays that could tell you where they source their produce from. I would have called it more of a feast than a lunch, the amount of food was unreal, however even though there was a large quantity it certainly didn't lack in quality. We initially started with some canapés as a starter, including quails egg scotch eggs with black pudding, celeriac soup, pork and turkey sausage rolls and salmon and caviar blinis. Followed by an amazing spread of beef, turkey, ham and dumplings served with pigs in blankets, stuffing, roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables. And even after that we were served a very booze Christmas pudding, chocolate tart like puddings and cherry bakewell slices. Honestly I've never felt as full and overwhelmed by a meal, it was so good you couldn't help but eat more than you should.
This was all served along some beautiful homemade cocktails, honestly they really had thought about every finishing touch. Looking back on the photos actually makes me feel hungry, I mean how scrummy does that food look?

This would be the most perfect venue for a works Christmas lunch, or a family get together before the big day, or just a catch up with friends. I know it's out in the stigs a little but it is well worth a visit. If you do pop in, pop to the shop and you can take away some scrummy treats for afters. Also don't forget to call in to see Rose the cow, I've heard she's a big fan of selfies.
